The Origins
Introduction
Hey there! To begin, I think I shall introduce myself. I'm Jonathan Boivin, an 18-year-old student from Trois-Rivières, and I'm currently studying natural sciences at Collège Laflèche, also located in the city of Trois-Rivières. Welcome to my blog's first post, where I will tell you a story about me, or should I say, about my future. In order to do that, however, I must go back in time and address a bit of my past.
A Step Back in Time
Ever since I was a child, one of my prime values has been altruism. I have always made it a priority to help others, and the fun thing is, I really enjoy doing it. Growing up, this aspect of my personality kept taking importance, as most of my friends, when in need, came to me. Considering all that, it made all the sense in the world that when I would start thinking about what I wanted to do career-wise, I would opt for something related to helping others.
The Initial Idea
At first, I thought I would end up finding a job in healthcare since it's a field where caring and providing for others is essential. I first had the idea that I could become a doctor but later realized I, unfortunately, did not have what it takes to exercise this profession. I then had the chance to work in healthcare for a whole summer, as I got a job in a CHSLD. While this working experience certainly was beneficial for my personal growth and opened my eyes to a part of our society I had not seen before, I did not like it. The working environment was quite heavy, and although I was helping people, I was not close to them, we had very few interactions if any at all, and I did not feel like this was the kind of work I wanted to do every day. It made me realize healthcare maybe was not the domain I was meant to be spending the rest of my life working in.
A turn of Events
At that point, I did not really know what I truly wanted to do. However, one day, an idea took root in my head and began to grow more and more each day to eventually lead me to yet another realization. Indeed, I told myself: why not become a teacher? I had never really considered this idea before and it never appeared to be a viable option up until that moment. After thinking about it, I then noticed that many things in my life had somewhat of a correlation with this field of study. In fact, I am a skiing instructor, a job I have been doing for the past 3 years and towards which I am passionate. I really enjoy transmitting my knowledge to others and helping them learn how to become better in the sport. I am also a French tutor at Collège Laflèche, which I enjoy a lot as well. In addition to all that, ever since my childhood, I have always liked to lend a hand to my peers when they struggled school-wise. I took all that into consideration and thought about it, but it did not take me long to realize I had found the ideal profession for me, a job where I will be able to help others in need, where I will be asked to share my knowledge every day in order to help people learn and where I will interact with many different types of people, a job which suits my values well, but most importantly, a job that is made for me, for the person I am. Indeed, ever since, I have desired to become a teacher, and I strongly believe I have found the path I want to follow moving on.

RépondreEffacerWhat a beautifully written blog post, Jonathan! I enjoyed reading how you chose your profession and why you chose it.
RépondreEffacerp.s. I like the geeky picture and The Office reference. ;)
Here are a few elements to improve:
- Parallelism: help them learn (make sure the verbs follow the same structure)
- Word order: I also am a French tutor
- Add a possessive adjective: ever since childhood
Keep up your good work, Jonathan!
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
EffacerHello Jonathan! I think your blog is very interesting and this career seems to be perfect for you. I like the structure of your post but if I could suggest something, it would be to justify your text to make it more aesthetic. Other than that, I think your blog is great!
RépondreEffacerThnaks for taking the time to read and leave a comment, it is really appreciated!
EffacerHi Jonathan! That blog post was well written, and I don't have anything to say about that. However, I wondered if you already had a subject you wanted to teach others?
RépondreEffacerDear Jonathan, I love your blog just like Kevin Malone loves his cookies. Dividing the post into different sections with subtitles is very clever of you. Oscar would be proud. I really do think teaching is meant for you. However, let me suggest something you might like... Have you ever thought about becoming the boss of your own company... maybe even a paper company? You would still be kind of teaching people by guiding and helping your employees. Follow your dream!

HAHAHA! Malory :) Love your comment.
EffacerThis post was really complete! I can see that we did not choose teaching for the same reasons, as it seems to be something that really passionates you. It is amazing to see some people really devoted to helping others to learn, I find it really inspiring. I hope you become a juggernaut of teaching someday!
